I did my powerpoint on Puerto Rico. I researched the internet on information about geography, government, currency, natural resources, school, family, tourists attractions, history, and food. I found out that Puerto Rico’s currency is the US dollar $$, the same as the United States. President George Bush is head of state in Puerto Rico. Many relatives in the family live in the same house. The family members may not look alike because they are mixed between European, African and Indigenous ancestry. Puerto Rico produce many natural resources. Examples are: Nickel,
Iron, Ore, Peat, Graphite, Salt, Tin, Chromium. Puerto Rico is located in the US Virgin Islands. Spices are added to foods to make them have a better flavor! I hope we can do another power point on another spanish speaking country another day. This was fun…..

My country was Puerto Rico. Each of my slides contained different sets of information. Like it’s geography. I also wrote about its goverment. I had no idea that President Bush was also the president of Puerto Rico!! The people there also use the U.S. dollar. Some of its natural resources is Copper and nickel. Its school system is pretty much like ours, kids start at age 6 and go to 17. Which is K-12th grades. The families usually contain 4 people, and are like normal families. If you wo uld ever like to go there you would probably like to visit its state capital, which is San Juan. This country was inhabited by the Taíno Indians. Its food is a blend of Spanish, African, Taíno, and American influences. I really enjoyed studying and finding information on Puerto Rico. This is a GREAT country!!! My presentation is on Puerto Rico. This assignment was very interesting because I learned so many new thing about this great country. The climate is very nice and warm with wide open terrian. The population is quite large especially with the Spanish background. The food sounded delicious because of all the blends and spices. What is really neat Columbus discovered Puerto Rico just like he found the Americas. Most families are usually quite small with only 3.5 people per family. Puerto Rico has a small amount of schools with only 1,532 public schools and 569 private schools. Puerto Rico has only two main natural resources which are copper and nickel. The gov. is under U.S. control. They use the regular U.S. dollar to trade and buy things. Puerto Rico is located between the Caribbean Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean.

In this class it’s a little easier for me to make a power point than to just try to explain what we are talking about. I also like have we had a variety of choices about what we wanted to do.

I chose to make a powerpoint on the country Mexico. They have a very poor education thus increasing the poverty level in the country. There are many low wage jobs that are available in the area and the majority of Mexicans do not get paid as well as most Americans do. The government consists of a Federal Republic. Most of the food, is usually spicy, but in some areas they avoid spicy foods and try to have a variety of selections. Mexico is about three times the size of Texas, measuring in at 761,600 sq. miles with a tropical to desert climate and lowland terrain. This country is rich in petroleum, silver, gold, copper, zink, natural gas, and timber. Most tourists that arrive in Mexico are there to view the Aztec architecture. Most families in Mexico live in large numbers and under poor conditions. Researching Mexico was an easy 100, and simple project. In addition, I also learned more about the country and in my opinion the grade was well worth the effort put forth in the project.

My presentation is on Spain. This country is quite fascinating. The first slide is on Geography, Spain is located on the Iberian Peninsula. The second slide is on government. Spain has a parliamentary monarchy and their President is José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero. Spain’s official currency is the Euro. Coal and Iron Ore are among Spain’s many natural resources. In my presentation I tell about Spain’s school systems, like in the USA, basic education is required. In Spain, families have a responsibility for other relatives. If someone is having medical problems or something of the sort, the rest of the family is required to help them. The Parque Nacional de Doñana is a major tourist attraction in Spain that draws many birdwatchers because of the many migratory birds that come through it. Spain has an interesting history. Did you know that they had a major civil war that lasted for 3 years? I also tell about traditional food in Spain. Would you believe that most of the food is not spicy? Many Spaniards find even common black pepper too hot for their taste! I hope you enjoy my presentation!

The power point presentation was very fun. I learned tons of things about Ecuador! Maybe we can do another power point. Here are some things I learned about Ecuador:
Ecuador is a very diverse country, in fact ecuador’s geography is one of the most diverse in the world. Ecuador’s government is a representative democracy with the past currency was a sucre. Two of Ecuador’s natural resources are fish and petroleum. An intresting fact about shcools in ecuador is that only 39% of students complete primary shcool. Family in Ecuador is very important, when a child is born parents pick compadres wich is something of a godparent. Another intrerestiong fact is that Ecuador’s most popular tourist attraction is The Central Bank Museum. I also learned that Ecuador has numerous types of Andean poatoes.

I choose to do my powerpoint presentation on Spain. Spain is a very interesting country. It shares the Iberian Peninsula with Portugal and has five major mountain ranges. Its government is made of a parliamentary monarchy. The people in Spain have currency notes, known as euros, and currency coins known as centimes. Spain has many natural resoures including natural gas, copper, and uranium. Children ages 6 to 16 are required to attend school. The major religion of Spain is Roman Catholic. There are many reasons one would want to visit Spain. One place people visit is the Cathedral. Like the history of America, Spain’s history consists of a Civil War. An unusual combination of food in Spain is combining meat with chocolate.
